We arrived at the Gallery early which was fine. It gave us a chance to tour the exhibit before it got too crowded. We enjoyed the company of fellow artists and even tried to convert regular people into BEAL members. Then Deb Trate arrived in her FUR!
Here comes the fur story......
One night last week Deb and I were talking about fur coats. She had on a real mink stole that she had bought at a second hand store and she looked so chic and I proceeded to tell her of the story of my fur (fake but looks real) that my sister talked me into buying, also at a second hand store. My sister, Deb, had one very similar. I love mine and would love to wear it occasionally but no one, in the family, would be caught dead with me wearing it while I'm in their company. Anyway, Deb T. and I agreed that we should, indeed, wear our furs to this opening at the Station and of course, since I was going with Maggie, I called and asked her if she had a fur, and since she is also an artist, she did have one, a real one, AND a real mink hat, she agreed to wear both. So, when we stopped at the first place on our travels, the Valley Gallery, as we walked through the front door, Don Kline asked us if we were dressed for Halloween and Maggie said, "No, we are hookers!", never missing a beat. So we had a great 'fur' night.
Now for the food story......
After the Opening, we want to go eat somewhere and Maggie's sister-in-law, Peg suggested Stella A's Bar & Grill right on Main street in Lock Haven, so we did, the four of us; Peg, Maggie, Deb and myself. Wow, what a great dinner I had. I had the Tilapia, baked with rice pilaf and salad of field greens, and, I assume, homemade Raspberry vinaigrette dressing. We walked in, four ladies, who recently checked the last box in the table of life, in their finest furs, a couple wines under their belts, looking for a table in a obviously packed restaurant. And, the man-of-authority at the end of the bar welcomed us to his fine establishment and the kind waitress ushered us into the dining room where there was only one 4-top left and seated us there.
The food was wonderful, the waitress attentive, and the price was very reasonable. I don't usually rate restaurants or stores on my website but this one impressed me just that much. Try it sometime, if you haven't already.
